This week I’ve been meeting with just the teachers to get them up to speed on the basics before we start work with the kids next week. I’ve got five teachers: all young adults, four guys and one girl. They’ve all been paying a lot of attention and catching on pretty quickly to the sometimes-quirky interface. There’s a lot of different levels of experience – some use computers at the local Internet cafe and others don’t even know how to click. I think everyone’s going to be able to contribute something, though, especially when it comes to explaining everything to the kids. I’m looking forward to see how everything they’re learning in this week’s “crash course” will transfer over when we’ve got ten eager-but-easily-distracted kids sitting in front of us.
