Linux Training

In the midst of sorting through our options for Internet connection here in Hinche, there’s also been Linux training going on. Our friend Denny got us in touch with Mario Eliezer Calixte, who came up for a few days to run the sessions.

As a native Haitian with a master’s degree in computer science, Mario was a great inspiration to the class here that is just starting out with computers. I myself was impressed by his professionalism – he arrived with a projector and some very complete Powerpoint presentations that helped make the process of introducing a new operating system painless. Now everyone (including me) wants a projector so we can design and present lessons, too.
