Hi, I’m Sora Edwards-Thro. In 2013, I traveled to Ansapit and set up a community computer center with 10 XO laptops donated by Unleash Kids. After that, I became the Haiti coordinator for Unleash Kids, managing after-school laptop programs at schools around the country. Now, I’m drawing on that experience to start initiatives like Lascahobas Literacy, using computers as tools for reading and writing.
Throughout my journey, I’ve been supported by many people, including fellow students and volunteers, community groups like numerous Kiwanis and Rotary clubs, and many mentors.
When I’m not in Haiti, I’m studying linguistics and international relations as an undergraduate at the College of William & Mary, and I’m writing, running, or reading.
Every person has a story. To hear more about how I first got involved in the work I’m doing, go here.
